Vanessa was born in Los Angeles on May 5th, 1982. She is a former model and dancer. At the age of 17 she met Kobe Bryant during the shooting of his music video, where he asked her out on a date. Lawsuit with Mother: In Kobe’s will, he made sure Vanessa and his children were all taken care of. He unexpectedly passed when his 4th daughter was only 7 months old and she was not included. Vanessa’s mother had tried to claim a portion of Kobe’s money, stating she was owed retroactive pay for being an ‘assistant’ and ‘babysitting’ her grand children when needed. Vanessa settled the lawsuit filed against her by her own mother.

Bryant is a Philanthropist working with Baby2Baby, and she and Kobe started the Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Foundation providing scholarships to minorities.
